Georgetown, the capital city of Penang, Malaysia and Malaysia’s second largest city located at the north-eastern tip of Penang Island is widely known around the world. The historical core of George Town has been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008 and is already 11 years until today.

Not only Georgetown is well known as UNESCO World Heritage Site, but also its multiculturalism lifestyle which giving it the uniqueness. Due to various ethnics and religions, we have mixture of cultures here, from Malay, Indian and Chinese to and from Western; Islam, Hindu, Buddhism to Christianity. This create an eclectic mix of festivals, architecture and food.

Georgetown has also became a city of art due to its significant street mural art which drawn by amazing Lithuanian artist, Ernest Zacharevic and this is also one of the factors that make Georgetown widely known. His amazing artworks is spread out across Penang’s city centre and art has been a smash hit, especially his most famous piece, a girl and a boy riding a real bicycle on Lebuh Armenian (Armenian Street).

Being a well known UNESCO city and city of art with multicuralism lifestyle, we received the greatest honour to use the name, Georgetown as our hospital’s name. With the name, we inspire to become an iconic medical institution to fullfill our social responsibilities toward to public.
